Procurement Specialist, API
Pharmaceutical company located in Florida seeks a Procurement
Specialist, API.
Overview: · Directly responsible for managing
of the acquisition process for Active Pharmaceuticals
Ingredients (API's). Interfaces with internal customers
and the MRP system to determine needs and requirements.
Maintains adequate direct material inventory levels
to support manufacturing schedules, customer deliveries,
and inventory goals and objectives.
Develop and maintain comprehensive network of contacts
within the API industry and act as the manager of the
relationship between our supplier companies, cross functional
working groups (Research and Development and Regulatory
Affairs) to complete API activities related to achievement
of ANDA/NDA filing objectives.
Identify new products and patents related. Evaluate
regulatory environment and marketing data, that can
represent potential opportunities for the company.
Responsibilities: Responsible for the evaluation and
selection of suppliers based upon pricing, product availability,
quality of product, financial stability, and past/current
relationships and approved supplier list. Responsible
for evaluating and proposing sources of API for ANDA/NDA
development projects and ongoing production of commercial
products (Alternate Source Program).
" Establish good and lasting business relationships
with suppliers and lead/conduct all contract negotiations.
Develop and maintain comprehensive network of contacts
within the API industry and act as the manager of the
relationship between our supplier companies.
" Coordinates with Manufacturing, Planning, QA/QC
and R&D to determine required raw material inventory
requirements. Determines order quantities and lead times
for all raw materials.
" Complete API activities related to achievement
of ANDA/NDA filing objectives, cross-functional working
groups (Research and Development and Regulatory Affairs).
" Maintain cost reduction programs utilizing techniques
such as value analysis and total acquisition cost, etc.
" Identify new products and patents related. Evaluate
regulatory environment and marketing data.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field
and experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a
focus on API sourcing, pharmaceutical development, regulatory
affairs, quality control or manufacturing. Advanced
certification or CPM Status preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in a Pharmaceutical
API sourcing Pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing environment,
a proven track record with suppliers. Experienced in
corporate commodity management desired.
