Manager of Market Research
A pharmaceutical company located in CT is looking for
a Senior Manager of Market Research. The candidate will
be responsible for supporting market research activities
during and post launch of a novel orphan therapy in
hematology. The incumbent will report to the Management
of Global Market Research. The ideal candidate will
be responsible for the following but will not be limited
to this list:
-Will be organizing and leading some of the global Market
Research for hematology/oncology as well as other prospective
indications.
-Develop Market Research strategy to enable a more informed
decision making process within marketing, sales and
senior management.
-Will participate in Market Research planning and hands-on
implementation research for all products.
-Organize, lead and manage Global market research activities
and market intelligence including mostly primary research
and some secondary data analysis.
-Will update and maintain project planning and budget
responsibility for most market research activities.
-Will act as a liaison with internal strategic partners
and external vendors.
-Develop new research strategy to respond to new benchmarking
and ad hoc requests from the Commercial Launch team.
-Participate in the development of strategies that will
contribute to the long-term growth of the company (i.e.,
lifecycle management, business development, etc.).
-Develop and maintain strong relationship with other
functional areas (i.e., MSLs, Clinical, Discovery, Regulatory,
Legal, Commercial Ops, and Sales).
Requirement:
-Along with his/her management, plays a key role in
developing strategies and tactics, with an equal commitment
to implementation of tactics through a combination of
individual and team efforts. This person must possess
a strong ability to manage across multiple functions,
working independently when appropriate, in teams and
as sub-team lead. The incumbent must have 3-5 years
pharmaceutical industry experience and good in-depth
knowledge of marketing research principles and market
research experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
-Deep insight into all aspects of commercialization
and development process including in-depth knowledge
of the various market research tools and technique.
The incumbent must possess a strong knowledge of secondary
data sources and existing vendors on a global basis.
Thorough understanding of Competitive Intelligence data
sources and knowledge of company and its market as well
as its clinical and therapeutic area is required.
-For consideration, we require that the successful candidate
has 3-5 years of pharmaceuticals market research or
equivalent in strategic marketing/sales activities.
New product marketing research or clinical/scientific
experience is highly desirable.
-Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
-Strong knowledge of MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
Access.
-Experience in leading multi-functional teams.
-Strong analytical, planning and prioritization skills.

Marketing Research Analyst
A pharmaceutical company located in New Jersey is seeking
a Senior Market Research Analyst/Manager. The incumbent
will have primary responsibility for all aspects of
the marketing research for assigned products, including
the design, execution and interpretation of market research
studies and the analysis of syndicated, secondary market
data for performance measurement and market understanding
purposes.
-Track product performance using secondary audits;
develop and implement primary marketing research tools
to assess specific questions related to product
performance or its strategic direction/positioning.
-Periodically support in-licensing, out-licensing, co-marketing,
and co-promotion
analysis and similar for responsible product line.
-Collect, synthesize and analyze market information
from a diverse source of secondary data, including IMS,Scott-Levin,
Pharma Projects, as well as web-based data sources such
as AnalySource and CD Promo.
-Participate closely with project teams and/or marketing
teams.
-Address information needs identified in the annual
Product Plan and new marketing issues as they arise,
select primary marketing research methodology to address
issues, obtain vendor proposals, select method and vendor.
Manage project from design through analysis and recommendation.
Establish and maintain
good working relationships with customers throughout
the process.
-Periodically provide market analysis to Business Development
or Pipeline Marketing project teams analyzing current
business and future opportunities for the existing product
line opportunities. This might include in-licensing,
out-licensing, co-marketing, co-promotion analysis and
similar. Provide information on very short turnaround.
-Support ad hoc marketing research needs/consultation
on questions/issues not
normally falling under the scope of traditional product-oriented
marketing
research analysis.
-Participate in brand strategy meetings to maintain
good working relationships with product managers and
co-promotion partners where appropriate. Stay informed
on brand developments, competitive tactical and strategic
activities, and provide marketing research findings
where appropriate.
Strong analytical abilities, especially the ability
to integrate information from different sources and
draw inferences and conclusions. Excellent communication
skills; ability to communicate complex material or research
results in terms of key implications and related recommendations,
even when the recipient may regard the findings as "bad
news". Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Proven problem solving skills. Ability to work independently
as well as part of a team.
A Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years pharmaceutical marketing
research experience or and MBA with 3 years pharmaceutical
marketing research experience is required.
