Associate Research Scientist/Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist, Formulation

Pharmaceutical company located in New York seeks an Associate Research Scientist/Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist for the following responsibilities:
oDevelop stable dosage forms including modified release formulations for new molecular entities.
oInteract with preformulation, exploratory pharmaceutics, and pharmacokinetics groups for rational formulation design for Phase I and II studies
oWork in a team based environment within PR & D and represent Formulation group in project meetings
oEfficiently use all types of processing equipment following cGMP compliant procedure
oWork independently with minimal supervision.
oWork on multiple projects at different research phases.

Requirements:
oPh.D. with 0-6 years experience in fast track dosage form development of new molecular entity. Degree in Pharmaceutical field, Industrial Pharmacy is preferred (Alternate related fields are acceptable with appropriate experience).
oMust be knowledgeable of all types of formulations used in the R &D including novel drug delivery systems
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
oUnderstanding of FDA requirements including IND, NDA, Pre Approval Inspections, is desirable.

Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist Preformulation


Pharmaceutical company located in New York is seeking a Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist, Preformulation for the following Responsibilities:

Conduct fundamental physico-chemical characterization of small drug molecules including pH-solubility profile, pKa, partition coefficients, polymorphism/salt screening, solid and solution state stability studies, etc
Conduct drug-excipient compatibility and other relevant studies to provide active support to formulators in the formulation development process
Conduct mechanical and thermal property evaluation on API and formulations using MDSC, TGA, DMA, texture analyzer and DCA
Perform experiments to monitor physical form change during pharmaceutical processing
Conduct solubility and multi-media dissolution studies to support BCS and in vitro/in vivo correlation
Develop oral and IV formulations to support in vivo PK, TK and pharmacological studies in animals
Supervise chemists and /or Ph.D. scientist to conduct the above preformulation activities

Requirements:
Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Medicinal Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutics with 0-5 years experience in preformulation
Fundamental knowledge of pharmaceutical product development is a must
Training in analytical techniques and instrumentation such as HPLC, LC/MS, DSC, TGA, FTIR, Hot-Stage Microscopy, Vapor Sorption, Isothermal Microcalorimetry, Particle Size Analysis and XRD is desirable
Expertise/Experience in thermal analytical testing is a plus
Knowledge of computer data sharing environment and a good understanding of formulations, especially solid dosage forms is necessary
Must be able to work in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
