Manager, Information Technology

Summary of Position:
Primary responsibility is the coordination, and review of the division efforts related to business and technical information/computer systems, telecommunications and office automation for all of the. Act as a conduit for sharing of associated technologies, capabilities and experiences between entities of the corporation for potential cost reductions through implementation of best practices and operational efficiencies.
Provides operational oversight and assistance for divisions to meet corporate objectives, policies and requirements

Duties:

Position requirements
Education: 4 year degree in Information Technology or related curriculum.
Experience: 10 years experience in Information Systems with a minimum 3 years of management experience. Experience in the Defense Industry a plus.
Specialized Skills: Must have experience in IT operations, Project management of medium to large software system implementations

The Director of Finance will be responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis for this division the company. VP Engineering


Leading Defense Contractor located in California seeks a; Vice President Engineering. This position reports to the President of the company. The Vice President of Engineering, individually and through subordinate personnel, provides strategic technical leadership in planning, establishing and directing all aspects of the Company's engineering policies, objectives, and initiatives. Researches new technologies that align the development function with the goals of the organization, and maintains Company's competitive position and profitability by formulating research and development programs. Responsible for supplying and maintaining adequate resources for all engineering functions in the pursuit of the company's strategic goals and operational plans. Develops ideas for new products or product enhancements. Oversees the creation and improvement of products the engineering department. Provides engineering expertise to other departments where needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists the President in preparing short and long-range business plans.
2. Establishes strategic department programs, budgets and objectives to insure that goals are achieved and cost objectives are met.
3. Formulates and recommends operating policies and objectives, or changes in existing policies and objectives.
4. Insures compliance with and implementation of Corporate and division policies and objectives.
5. Manages department budgets.
6. Facilitates continuous improvement in department's processes.
7. Assures technical quality within timely schedule, performance and cost constraints.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate personnel who supervise employees in the Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Digital Engineering, Project Engineering, Reliability & Maintainability Engineering, Power Engineering, Technical Support, Configuration Management, and Engineering Services departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Also directly supervises non-supervisory administrative employees. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's Degree (Master Degree preferred) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Minimum 15 years experience in related fields of Engineering with good working knowledge of:

First 90 Days - V.P. Engineering

1) Proceed to know on a personal basis, the team members of the Engineering group as it stands today:
One-on-one meetings/discussions (topics: Overall perception of the engineering organization, positives and negatives, what can be improved and what needs to be eliminated/changed and why...) and learning about the activities that the various team members are working on will be the first step towards achieving this goal. Also, input from the senior management team will be another critical parameter in establishing this initial evaluation.

2) Engage the Business Development/Marketing, Program Management, Operations and Quality Organizations to identify their immediate, mid-term and long-term needs with regard to Engineering support and learning about their perception of the Engineering Organization as it stands today and their vision for the future.

3) Establish the leadership pool and the core expertise of each Engineer.

4) Establish a matrix-based structure that supports the vision and needs of the Company:
- Successful execution of existing programs to the satisfaction of the customer and beyond.
- Strong support for the various business development activities that include both the military and industrial markets.
- Innovative and cost effective integration of the most cutting edge technologies in the company's products and system solutions, to ensure a continuous advantage over the competition.
- Technology Road-map that outlines a plan for the development and integration of new cutting edge technologies/products.

5) Establish the tools and processes (Design reviews/Toll gates, CM & Documentation, Software Development and Documentation, Integrated Design tools and Analysis methods, New Technology Development to include IR&D, Proposal Writing and Business Development support process,….) that enable an effective, consistent and quality oriented execution of Engineering tasks while fully integrating with other teams and organizations at the company. Additionally, an equally important purpose of such processes is to avoid "clean sheet" designs whenever possible to minimize time and development costs.

6) Implement pilot project(s) as soon as the above activities are complete to establish the processes above and stimulate the Organization for further improvements.

7) Determine, Review and implement Engineering staff reorganization to facilitate the needed changes to deploy our assets to address:
" Research & development in response to marketplace and customer needs.
" Continuation or sustaining engineering responsible, identified people to complete design reviews, design for manufacturability and manufacturing support.
" Configuration Management & Control. We need a chairperson for Change Control Board.
" Develop an entry level Engineering Support Team to mentor and grow for the future.

Manager of Financial Reporting

A highly self motivated individual who is disciplined, detail-oriented, has strong analytical skills and works well under pressure in a fast paced dealine-orieted environment. Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a mix of 6-7 years experience in a big four CPA firm and private company required (Would appreciate straight public if individual is hands-on). CPA required.

Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Reporting with significant interaction with both the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller and Division financial management.


Responsibilities:

Prepare and review all securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC) filings, including filings on Forms 10Q, 10K, 8K and other public presentations such as earnings press releases and proxy statements.

Manage two to three senior accountants.

Prepare and review quarterly consolidating general ledger accounts.

Prepare and review quarterly detailed analysis of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow utilizing the Hyperion database and excel. Interaction with divisional financial management as necessary.

Ensure corporate financial reporting internal control activities are performed and documented.

Prepare and review all defined contribution and defined benefit plan audited financial statements filed with the SEC and DOL and review of related Form 5500.

Coordinate Pricewaterhouse Coopers audit procedures.

Government Liaison & Compliance

 

Government Liaison and Compliance between company and DCAA/DCMA. This position involves the review, evaluation, resolution and approval of government audits regarding proposed corporate policies, procedures and expenses having corporate-wide impact on Government contracts. Must be familiar with and provide guidance to company units on compliance with Government regulation such as FAR, DFARS, CAM and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Skills:
Current experience in defense industry, either working for a defense contractor on Government contracts or working in a senior contract/audit position for the government.

Strong Analytical and technical abilities.

Skillful communicator, both oral written.

Preparation of all benefit plan financial statements filed with the SEC and DOL and review of related form 5500.

Monitoring of foreign statutory reporting requirements.

Ad hoc projects such as review and interpretation of SEC and Financial Accounting Standards Board accounting standards and other finance projects.
